What if you could experience the thrill of an indoor rollercoaster entirely in the dark? Now what if you could experience that ride but with an iconic song blasting in your ears? Of course, I’m not talking about Space Mountain. I’m talking about Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind.
In this article, I’ll take you through each song and the order in which I prefer to hear them. Let’s jump in!
An Introduction to Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind’s Awesome Mix Tape
For those who don’t know, Guardians of the Galaxy’s newest coaster at Epcot is an indoor rollercoaster, which guests need to reserve a virtual queue if they want to ride it. I personally call it the “modern Space Mountain.”
During the ride, you have a chance to hear one of six songs, right from Star-Lord’s mixtape. The Imagineers clearly knew what they were doing as every song is fun, but here’s my personal ranking for the tunes I like to hear on the thrill ride.

While each one holds a special place in my heart, I definitely prefer to hear some over others. Starting from the bottom, let’s take a look at the best songs you have a chance to hear.
6. I Ran by a Flock of Seagulls
This song is for you, Vice City fans! Unfortunately, while it’s perfect for a video game set in the ’80s, this isn’t my favorite track to get on Guardians of the Galaxy at Epcot.
It is a great track, but I much prefer faster beats. A fast song just adds to the thrill of every sharp turn of the coaster.
But this is such a catchy tune. Even though it’s last on my list, you can still catch me dancing whenever this one comes on. Like I said before, they really picked some incredible gems.
5. Everybody Wants to Rule the World by Tears for Fears
In the same vein as the last song, this one is just too slow for the intense thrill ride.
The ride is supposed to make you feel shock, awe, and pure entertainment. This song just makes the experience feel like a casual stroll through the galaxy.
Still not a bad song to get, but definitely not the best.
4. September by Earth, Wind, and Fire
Do you remember the 21st night of September?
Unfortunately, I can’t forget it. Because I rode Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind on September 21st and this song did not play?! How is that even legal?!
My grief over the perfect song choice aside, this is a really fun song. It’s perfectly tuned to the dips and turns of the rollercoaster, so you’ll be spinning and laughing at the same time.
But I’m still not over such a missed opportunity. Is that influencing my ranking? No. Not at all…
3. One Way or Another by Blondie
Put this song in any movie or ride and it’ll be a fun time. Just look at Hocus Pocus 2.
While you won’t see the Sanderson Sister’s choreography during the ride, this song adds such an exciting layer to an already thrilling ride.
The song immediately propels you into a catchy beat with incredible vocals, just like the ride launches you into a rip-roaring experience.
I really like that the bridge is timed perfectly to my favorite part of the ride, when you orbit the moon’s gravitational pull. I’m never disappointed when I get this song.
2. Conga by Gloria Estefan
You wouldn’t think that a song of this nature could be so thrilling. But it is.
The fast beat of the song coupled with Gloria’s vocals take the ride to a new level. You’ll be trying to conga while being whipped around by so many twists and turns. It’s a hilariously fun time.
And I also need to mention that I saw many people dancing in the carts in front of me to this song. Their smiles were infectious and I could tell they were just having the time of their lives. Thanks, Gloria.
1. Disco Inferno by The Trammps
This was the first song I got on my first time riding this incredible experience, so I may be a little biased, but hear me out.
This song sounds like it could be right from Star-Lord’s mixtape. I can totally see Baby Groot dancing to this while chaos ensues around him.
And let me tell you: I could not stop dancing to this song on the ride. How, you might ask? With great difficulty!
I will never forget my experience of just pure joy and thrill when I heard this song for the first time on my first ride. It was the quintessential Disney magic experience, and I cannot rank this song any lower because of that.
Conclusion
Everyone has their favorite tracks But, the way these songs match with the ride is out of this world. It makes the whole experience awesome.
The Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind shows how music and rides go well together. These songs and the fun of the roller coaster make space adventures come alive.
