Could Walt Disney World Have a Fifth Theme Park?

The Happiest Place on Earth might just get a whole lot happier.

Walt Disney World, the iconic resort in Orlando, Florida, has been buzzing with rumors of a potential fifth theme park.

With the recent approval of a $17 billion expansion plan, the possibility of a new park is more plausible than ever.

But what could this new park look like? Let’s dive into the possibilities.

The Rumors and the Expansion Plan

There is a rumor that Disney has started working on a fifth theme park in Disney World.

While details are still scarce, Disney CEO Bob Iger hinted at upgrades being made at every Disney location worldwide, including the Disney Cruise Line.

With Disney World being a major focus for the company, the Florida resort may receive significant attention.

Possible Themes for the Fifth Park

So, what could be the theme of this new park? Let’s explore some possibilities:

  1. Star Wars Park: Yes, we already have Galaxy’s Edge. But, as we know, that land takes place on Batuu, which isn’t featured in any Star Wars movie or show. What if we had an immersive Star Wars park that allowed you to visit planets like Tatooine, Coruscant, and Endor? The possibilities are Endor-less!
  2. Pixar Park: Pixar has been slowly sprinkling itself into the theme parks at Disney World, but Disneyland gets its own Pixar section. So let’s instead just make one park dedicated to the animation industry giant.
  3. Disney Villains: A park dedicated to the Disney Villains is something we’ve wanted for decades. Come on, Disney – make it happen!
  4. A Port of Fantasy Springs: Disney just opened Fantasy Springs in Tokyo DisneySea, which is an expansion that covers three immersive lands: Frozen, Tangled, and Peter Pan. The reception has been overwhelmingly positive. So, could we see them bringing Fantasy Springs over to Florida? Maybe.
  5. Nostalgia Park: Okay, this one might be a reach. But what if we had a park that was dedicated to featuring extinct attractions from Disney’s yesterworld? Have you ever wanted to ride Alien Encounter, The Great Movie Ride, or Maelstrom? This could be where they live permanently!

The new park could be a mix of any or all of these ideas.

Clues from DisneylandForward

While we’re still speculating about the fifth park, Disney has been leaving breadcrumbs.

The DisneylandForward expansion plan, currently in the works for Disneyland in California, includes new hotels, shops, and restaurants, as well as themed lands and attractions inspired by Frozen, Zootopia, Toy Story, and Tron.

This could indicate that Disney is looking to duplicate or expand upon existing lands, attractions, and ideas in its newest parks and expansions.

It’s exciting stuff!

What Can We Expect from the New Park?

While details are still scarce, we can expect the new park to feature state-of-the-art attractions, immersive experiences, and stunning landscapes. With Disney’s commitment to innovation and quality, the new park is sure to exceed our expectations.

When Can We Expect the New Park to Open?

While no official opening date has been announced, the expansion plan is expected to take several years to complete. With the recent approval of the plan, construction is likely to begin soon, and we can expect the new park to open in the near future.

What’s Next for Walt Disney World?

While nothing is officially confirmed, the possibility of a fifth Walt Disney World theme park is certainly exciting. With the approved expansion plan and the rumors swirling around, it’s clear that Disney is committed to growing and innovating its parks.

And honestly? They kind of have to.

Their biggest competitor, Universal Studios, is opening a brand new park called Epic Universe in 2025. So, how does Disney plan to keep up with the competition?

Only time will tell. Let the speculation begin!
